To Kill a Mocking Girl is the third episode of the first season.It aired on June 22.2010.
This episode starts with the Liars discussing about Ali's memorial.They want to put it in the woods,near The Kissing Rock,becuse they used to hang out with Alison there.Hanna brings up that she thinks Ali is still alive,but the girls think she's crazy for saying that.Just then,they get a message from -A,saying that she's hunting them.
At the Marin's,Hanna is annoyed to find Wilden shirtless,when Ashley somes downstairs to make breakfast and sends Darren to put some clothes on.She and Hanna talk about how the police hasn't dropped charges yet,so they can't kick him out.Wilden heard this hole conversation.
Meanwhile,Aria's having breakfast,discussing about the book she's reading,"To Kill a Mockingbird". After that,Meredith(Byron's student which he had an affair with)shows up.Byron introduces her to Aria.Meredith tries to make a conversation,but Aria doesn't want to talk to her.
At Spencer's house,Veronica's trying to comfort Melissa.Spencer and Melissa argue,and Spencer points out that Wren kissed her.Spencer wants to say that she's not surprised that Wren cheated on her,but their mother gives her a warning look.Spencer throws her breakfast and leave.
At school,Noel and Sean walk over to Hanna and Mona and invites them to Noel's party which is next night.Ben invites Emily to Noel's party,and Emily invites Maya.
Jenns walks in the hallway with her step-brother Toby.The Girls wonder if he had anything to do with Ali's murder,or if he's maybe -A. Maya asks Emily about him and she tells her that he got sent away to reform scool after he set fire in the garage Jenna was in.
Aria goes to Ezra's classroom and asks him on a date at a gallery,while her parents think she's at Noel's party.He says yes.
Meanwhile,Ben sneaks to the girls locker room and tries to assault Emily,but she tries to push him,nicely,and then he gets aggressive.Toby shows up there and stops Ben.When Ben asks if he's the reason she's not into him,she breaks up with him and tell him that he should get over yourself.
At Ella's gallery,Aria finds her mom chatting with Meredtih.She tells that Meredtih is invited to her gallery opening,and Aria is horrified by that.
At Noel's party,Sean and Ben are playing foosball,and Hanna is angry with how much Sean is ignoring her.Then,Emily arrives with Maya.Ben shoots up his bruised head and expresses his surprise at her coming. She replies that she didn't come for him, totally dissing him, and walks away.In the Hastings kitchen Spencer has an idea how she'll write her Russian History paper.She then steals Mellisa's old A-grade paper.
Back at the party,Sean is still playing foosball,and Hanna is even more annoyed.Spencer arrives at the party.The four girls discuss about Toby's return.They make it clear that they don't trust him.Aria leaves to the gallery.Spencer has a flashback of "The Jenna Thing" and we see that Ali blackmaild Toby to take a blame for it.
Meanwhile,Emily and Maya go to a photo booth,and there they kiss eachother.Someone takes the pictures,and Emily is worried,while Maya doesn't seem to care.
At the gallery opening, Ella and Byron talk and laugh happily as they stand together entertaining guests. Suddenly Meredith shows and Aria walks up to her to kick her out of the party. But Meredith just shrugs when Aria brings up the previous day's conversation, saying she can do what she wants, and takes Aria's glass from her hands.Later,Aria knocks on Ezra's apartment (3B), and he opens it, happy to see her. She asks to come in, clearly upset, but Ezra says it isn't a good idea. She apologizes, but before she leaves, Ezra asks if she is okay and offers to drive her home. She reveals that home is the last place she wants to be, and he holds her close, there in the hallway, while Aria is badly in need of comforting.
After the party, Maya drives Emily home to her house, where she spots Toby sitting on his porch steps alone. She sees him fiddling with motorcycle parts and approaches him. Not quite sure how to state it, she thanks him for saving her in the locker room from Ben. Toby smiles back silently. Then, Jenna's voice is heard from the corner of the porch; Emily hadn't seen her at all. She roughly asks why Emily had thanked Toby twice, but he answers vaguely, leaving Jenna completely dissatisfied.
"A" is then seen listening to jazz music as he/she prints copies upon copies of the pictures of Maya and Emily kissing at the party...
